Today we asked our real estate agent to cancel escrow on the Azul Drive property. We spent four months and thousands of dollars attempting to develop this lot for our eco-community. It was 2.1 acres, 16 lots, and was in many ways the most beautiful lot in the San Fernando valley. Near “town”, it would have been a remarkable location.
Sadly the LAFD would not allow us to build without building or widening roads, and installing fire hydrants boosted by pumps and water tanks. The total cost would have been at least one, and perhaps up to three million dollars just to prepare the lot for building.
I’m sad to see it go, it was beautiful, but we must move on to better options.
